Thank you for a most enjoyable and comfortable stay. But most of all thank you for clearly wanting us to be here - an achievement not attained by all.
Jane & Mr Settle, Lancashire
Isn’t it great not having to wait for the bar staff to serve you? Don’t you just love getting your drink exactly how you like it? Would you like to play the role of barman for the night? We have the perfect solution….
Our house is also your house. So when you stay with us we want you to feel fully at home. Our bar, stocked with quality Cornish wines & ales & much more, is yours to enjoy. Just fill in the sheet on the bar with your name and room name, and list everything you’ve had, and go ahead and help yourself. We will do the rest, even clear up afterwards. What could be better?
High up on the hills above Tintagel lies Condolden Farm, the highest Farmhouse in Cornwall.
The pure spring water here is 852 feet above the sea at Trebarwith Strand. A redundant milking parlour on the Farm has been converted into Tintagel Brewery and two classic real ales have been developed for Cornwall to enjoy.
Both beers are made with our own Pure Spring water and wet yeast, another great mark of quality. With Malts from Tuckers Maltings in Devon and English hops, they hold their head well and have a refreshing sparkle in their character that comes from cask conditioning.
Castle Gold is a golden, light and hoppy session beer. At 3.8% it is the summer drink of choice for discerning real ale enthusiasts, appearing alongside Gull Rock in the Cornwall edition of CAMRA's 'One and Ale' within a week of going on sale.
St Austell Brewery are proud of our bottled beers and we take great care to ensure the flavours, aromas and experience of our bottled ales live up to their cask cousins.
Our bottled beers are brewed in St Austell using locally grown malt and our own unique water supply along with the finest hops and yeast.
Tribute at 4.2% is a Supreme Champion Ale of Cornwall as voted by CAMRA, and the South West's Favourite cask beer, Tribute is a popular favourite across Cornwall, the South West and the rest of the UK. It is brewed using specially grown Cornish Gold Malt and is a perfect accompaniment to chicken, gammon or fish. The ideal alternative to a fine white wine.
HSD is St Austell’s most legendary ale and at 5.0% it is fullbodied strong and Cornish, brimming with a kaleidoscope of flavours. Brewed with plenty of malt and lashings of English Fuggles and Golding hops, HSD is truly a classic ale of considerable depth and complexity. The real ale alternative to a well rounded premium red wine and simply superb with steaks and other red meat dishes.
We like to boast that the Honesty bar prices are much more 'Pub like' than 'Hotel like', and we feel confident you will enjoy the range of both Cornish and more widely available options. Our fine selection of wine has been provided by the wonderful 'Wine in Cornwall' who you can foolow at cornishwinemerchants.blogspot.com/
